Eleven Years Old and Building Bridges to Hope
Imani is from a stable family on the good side of town. She's kind and intelligent, the top girl in her school. She's well liked by her teachers and classmates and has every opportunity to become whatever she wants to be in life.
When Imani became involved with the RiverCross club at her school, her eyes were opened to the vulnerable children in her community. She realized through the Holding Esther and Jabota Bridge audio dramas that many of her own friends and classmates were impacted by trauma and exploitation, a realization that has inspired Imani to dedicate her future to studying law. Imani says, "When I grow up, I want to be a lawyer so that I can stand and protect all the vulnerable children in my country."
However, Imani is not waiting until she's grown to impact her community. She has recently taken on the role of an advocate for the underprivileged, compelling her school to implement a scholarship program allowing free enrollment for vulnerable kids. So far, 2 children in Imani's community have received this scholarship.
At only 11 years old, Imani is building bridges to hope in her community, making strides toward accessible education, sharing her pocket money with neighbors who have none, and grabbing the attention of leaders in her community to inspire them to do the same. Praise be to God for the ways He is using Imani's heart for those in need.
