The Intersection of Power & Strength

There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

Proverbs 23:18

RiverCross believes in a twofold methodology: the power of story and the strength of partnership. Each year, the RiverCross Summit creates an intersection between this power and strength, welcoming organization directors, social workers, counselors, school officials, and anyone working toward the protection of children in their local community to come together to be equipped and encouraged in their work.

Stories are powerful. They engage both the heart and the mind, allowing for true understanding and transformation. That’s why training at the RiverCross Summit is anchored in our award-winning audio dramas, because when the participants engage with the story, they are easily able to connect with it, drawing parallels from their own lives and the lives of the children they interact with which leads to deeper understanding of the material and increased compassion toward those they are helping. But the RiverCross audio dramas are not the only stories the trainers take home with them, but also the testimonies and real-life situations discussed with other local leaders.

The strength of partnership is not only valuable for us at RiverCross to grow our network, but the Summit connects likeminded individuals and organizations to one another. At the 2023 RiverCross Summit, 80% of attendees reported having developed longterm partnerships with other Summit attendees. When a room full of people who are passionate about serving vulnerable children come together, there is no denying the benefit of a supportive and encouraging community to be a sounding board for others working in various fields, but united by the vision of setting children free to thrive. Not only does the Summit encourage this network of support and camaraderie, but it enables organizations to involve their local churches and communities in the work of protecting vulnerable children through reproducible and adaptable training for all ages.

Last year, 114 people representing 32 organizations and 7 countries took part in the RiverCross Summit. These attendees came with the desire for enhanced training and skill development, personal growth and healing, and community network building. Praise be to God that since last year’s Summit we have already seen people’s hearts changed, compassion grow, acquisition of new knowledge and skills, confidence development, and people taking action for the sake of the 1 billion children who have experienced trauma.

Equipped with the power of story and the strength of new partnership with our 2024 RiverCross Summit attendees, we are working to create a world where every child is set free to thrive.
