Join the Movement of Healing and Hope

When you advocate for children in distress through RiverCross, you join God in his work of restoration—helping caregivers and children find healing and wholeness through Christ-centered, trauma-informed care.

WHAT IS A RIVERCROSS ADVOCATE?

Ordinary People Making Extraordinary Impact

RiverCross Advocates give, pray, and act on behalf of vulnerable children. Some serve locally, others travel to the RiverCross Africa Summit to serve, listen, and learn alongside caregivers and partners.

Individuals, small groups, and entire churches can serve as RiverCross Advocates – praying, giving, and helping their communities engage God’s heart for children in distress.

WHY ADVOCACY MATTERS

Speaking Up for Those Who Can’t

Advocating for the world’s vulnerable children is never wasted. When you speak up, give, or go, you’re aligning with the very heart of God—the Father to the fatherless and Defender of the weak.

In a world overwhelmed by crisis and tragedy, it’s easy to doubt that one person can make a difference. But when you advocate through RiverCross, you can be sure that what you do truly helps.

Every action—sharing a story, supporting a partner, praying for children in distress—joins God in His work of seeing every child treasured in their community and transformed by the love of Jesus.

“Pure religion in the sight of God our Father means caring for orphans and children in distress.”

—James 1:27 (Adapted)

HOW TO BECOME AN ADVOCATE

Start with a Discovery Group

Your first step toward advocacy is joining a Discovery Group—a five-week discussion (online or in-person) that introduces RiverCross’s Bridge to Freedom audio drama and explores God’s heart for healing children in distress.

Many participants are African leaders exploring partnership opportunities, while others are individuals from around the world who simply want to help. Together, they listen, reflect, and discover how healing and wholeness multiply through training, faith, and community.

After completing a Discovery Group, you’re invited to join our quarterly RiverCross Gathering—an online space for Facilitators, Trainers, and Advocates to learn, share updates, and pray together.

ONGOING ENGAGEMENT

Live It Out All Year Long

RiverCross Advocates stay connected through:

– Quarterly Gatherings—a one-hour virtual time for connection, learning, and prayer.

– Vision Trips to Africa—an annual opportunity to participate and serve at the RiverCross Africa Summit, visiting Partners and seeing the work firsthand.

– Local Events and Campaigns—join or host gatherings that raise awareness and prayer for vulnerable children.

Throughout the year, Advocates live out their calling through presence, generosity, and storytelling—helping others see God’s heart for the world’s children.

CORE BELIEF

Advocacy Changes Us, Too

At RiverCross, we believe transformation isn’t only for the children of Africa. It’s for all of us.

As we advocate, God softens our hearts and shapes us into His likeness as people who reflect His compassion for the vulnerable.

We’re all called to care for children in distress—whether we pray, give, or go.
