Training That Multiplies Impact
RiverCross’s Training Program equips local leaders to bring healing and hope to vulnerable children—sustainably, contextually, and in partnership with the organizations that know their communities best.
WHY TRAINING MATTERS
Real Change Begins with Equipped Leaders
Wholeness comes when the adults in their lives know how to walk with vulnerable children through adversity and trauma. That’s why RiverCross invests deeply in equipping people, not just providing programs.
Through the RiverCross Training Program, leaders gain both personal insight and practical tools to support children’s emotional, spiritual, and relational healing.
What begins with one workshop becomes a movement of hope—led by people already rooted in their communities.
HOW THE RIVERCROSS TRAINING PROGRAM WORKS
The Equip → Lead → Thrive Model
RiverCross’s Training Program builds capacity through a Training-of-Trainers (ToT) model designed for long-term sustainability. We equip partners to lead in their own context—so healing multiplies without dependence on us.
TRAINERS EQUIP
RiverCross Trainers conduct immersive, story-based workshops that help participants understand trauma, resilience, and healing through the lens of Scripture. Facilitators learn how to use our Bridge to Freedom audio drama to establish RiverCross Clubs.
FACILITATORS LEAD
Once Facilitators are equipped in the RiverCross method, they can lead Clubs using any RiverCross program, including Bridge to Freedom. Additional audio dramas—such as Jabota Bridge and future series—build on the same proven framework, giving leaders flexibility to serve their communities with relevant, Christ-centered stories.
CHILDREN THRIVE
As caregivers grow and children are protected, communities begin to thrive. Churches, schools, and families become centers of flourishing where children and treasured and trauma is no longer accepted as a way of life.
WHERE TRAINING HAPPENS
Training Across Africa Through Partnership and Gathering
RiverCross Training occurs through two complementary pathways: Partner Trainings and the Africa Summit.
In every setting, we see God use story, community, and trusted leaders to knit hearts together and strengthen his church for the protection, rescue, and restoration of children living in adversity.
PARTNER TRAININGS
Organizations invite the RiverCross Training Team to equip their staff—often through a full Training-of-Trainers (ToT) pathway. Leaders are equipped to be RiverCross Trainers. Trainers learn to train their own Facilitators. Facilitators learn to lead RiverCross Clubs through their organization. We then walk alongside them—coaching, assessing, and supporting—until they are confidently training their own Facilitators and fully implementing RiverCross Clubs.
THE AFRICA SUMMIT
Every June, leaders and practitioners from multiple countries and organizations gather for a five-day hands-on training experience designed to equip participants to facilitate RiverCross Clubs in their own context. Led by the RiverCross Training Team, the Summit strengthens partnerships, deepens community, and accelerates impact across borders.
WHAT MAKES RIVERCROSS TRAINING SUSTAINABLE
Rooted Locally. Scalable Globally. Built to Last.
RiverCross Training is sustained through two core structures that keep quality high and leadership local: Regional Field Coordinators and Club Hubs.
Together, these two pillars make RiverCross a sustainable equipping movement, multiplying healing and wholeness long after a training ends.
REGIONAL FIELD COORDINATORS
Our Field Coordinators are highly trained Master Trainers based in Africa. They coach partners, support new Trainers, lead site visits, and gather consistent data. Their long-term presence ensures that RiverCross training remains contextual, relational, and faithful—without requiring large in-country offices.
CLUB HUBS
RiverCross maintains a small network of Club Hubs—partner-hosted demonstration Clubs where new programs are tested, contextualized, observed, and refined. These Hubs give prospective partners the opportunity to see a real RiverCross Club in action while also providing youth with safe, consistent spaces to heal, belong, and grow under trusted local leadership.
LEARNING AND ADAPTATION
Listening, Learning, and Improving Together
Every RiverCross training includes built-in feedback and follow-up. Through simple tools like WhatsApp, we stay connected with Facilitators and partners before, during, and after training—gathering insights that guide continuous improvement.
This continuous feedback loop helps us:
– Track outcomes for caregivers and children.
– Respond quickly to partner questions and needs.
– Strengthen future trainings for even greater impact.
We listen, learn, and adapt—because lasting transformation happens when we grow together.
STORIES OF IMPACT
From Training to Transformation
RiverCross training doesn’t end when the workshop does—it begins there. We’ve seen caregivers once overwhelmed by pain become leaders of healing in their churches and schools.
When caregivers are equipped, children can heal—and whole communities are transformed.
“Before RiverCross, I didn’t know how to help the children who had suffered so much. Now I see how Jesus can bring healing through me.”
—RiverCross Facilitator, Zambia
