When a Child is Seen: The Power of Faithful Presence

Feb 12, 2026

“Daniel” was fourteen. He stood at the tricky crossroads where curiosity meets peer pressure. It started with a single choice—trying drugs out of curiosity. Sadly that one choice quickly led to consequences that affected him physically, emotionally, and socially.

His once-bright eyes now carried shadows of worry. Schoolwork and small chores at home felt impossible. The weight of his choices rested heavy on his shoulders. Daniel’s journey could have quickly tilted him into the downward spiral of vulnerability. He needed someone willing to truly see him before he spun all the way into self-destruction.

At a RiverCross Club, Daniel encountered adults who didn’t see a “problem to fix,” but a child to treasure. The club opened its doors to a safe space. Honest conversations filled the room, as Daniel was met with care. No one judged Daniel, but caring adults sat patiently as he described his struggles.

Through consistent counseling, wise guidance, and intentional follow-up, Daniel began a journey of restoration. He learned to make healthier choices, grew in self-awareness, and found renewed hope—reflecting the heart of the Shepherd who carries and gently leads each child toward life and wholeness.

Your prayers, encouragement, and partnership make moments like Daniel’s possible. When you support the training of caregivers who can treasure children, you help RiverCross reflect Jesus’ faithful presence in the world.

This February, let’s celebrate the power of Jesus being present. And give thanks for the caregivers whose faithful presence begins with seeing a child—not as a problem to solve, but as a child to treasure.

Thank you for joining us. Your support, prayers, and care allow children like Daniel to be seen, valued, and guided toward hope.
